What do you do when an old mud guard breaks? How about use the metal work to create a swing?
I love working with found and upcycled materials, they give you ideas that you wouldnt have thought of otherwise and ensure that each piece of work is totally different.
I loved the idea of an adult, rather than a child, loaded with all her shopping, was sitting on the swing, and the words "act your shoe size not your age" seem the perfect slogan to live by.
 
Created from a combination of hand and machine stitch, each piece takes several days to create.
Mounted on a wooden base approx 13.5 x 17.5cm.  Heigh approx 36cm.  Her arm is stretched out beyond the base, making the widest part 21cm (not 13.5cm) but it can be repositioned to another pose if preferred.
